Many of you have seen the ongoing mural/installation project in the gallery that the art committee has been working on. It is intended to be a river timeline of Nahalat Shalom’s history onto which members can place photographs, written recollections, objects, etc. which recall community and family Nahalat Shalom-related events.
We’ve scheduled a gathering and Havdalah for April 26 at which we can listen to and celebrate Nahalat Shalom’s history, stories of your family’s Nahalat Shalom events, and also take time to enjoy and celebrate this project. Please bring stories, photographs, general recollections-whatever-along with finger food type vegetarian munchies. It was great fun when we did some of this at the annual meeting. We intend to keep the fun ongoing.
The mural will need to come down in May temporarily so that other artwork can be exhibited during the Sephardic festival. The mural and all its parts will be saved for re-installation in July, so come share some stories, bring some photos to scan and place post-its on the timeline that have meaning to you. Let’s enjoy and celebrate this phase of the River Timeline looking forward to the final phase of the River Timeline that will begin in July.
